Privacy Policy
Sayta is a URL aggregation and discovery service. We index links and descriptive metadata; the referenced media remains on the third-party service that published or hosts it.
Sri Lankan legal context
This policy is written with reference to the Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022 and other applicable laws of Sri Lanka. It describes Sayta’s information practices and does not limit rights that applicable law may provide.
Information we process
We process account details you provide, submitted URLs, titles, descriptions, timestamps, tags, list and follow activity, saved searches, session identifiers, and limited security and request logs needed to operate the service.
Public submissions
URLs, metadata, tags, and attribution submitted as public may be visible to anyone. Do not submit private, confidential, unlawfully obtained, or sensitive personal information. Private and unlisted records are restricted according to the visibility controls described in the product.
Third-party platforms
Opening a source link or loading an embedded player may send your IP address, browser information, cookies, and request data directly to YouTube, X/Twitter, Facebook, or another source. Those services control their own processing and privacy practices; this policy does not govern them.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate accounts, retrieve and categorize public media links, provide search and lists, prevent abuse, moderate tags and submissions, diagnose failures, and meet legal obligations. We do not claim ownership of linked media merely because a URL or metadata appears in the index.
Retention, access, and deletion
We retain records for as long as reasonably needed for the service, security, moderation, and legal compliance. Account export and deletion controls apply to account data as implemented; some records may be retained where required by law, needed for fraud prevention, or necessary to preserve moderation and legal records.
Content reports
We may restrict or remove an indexed URL or associated metadata when we receive a credible privacy, safety, copyright, or legal complaint. Removing an entry from this service does not remove the underlying media from its third-party host.
